Welcome to the website of the Hampden Hotel. We are located in Murchison, New Zealand just a stone’s throw away from Nelson and the Nelson Lakes. The Hampden Hotel offers a variety of accommodation in the form of family rooms, twin rooms and single rooms; en-suite rooms are also available on request. Our prices start from as little as $30 per night. Along with accommodation The Hampden Hotel is also a restaurant and bar serving food from 7.30 am right through to 10pm daily in the summer months. We offer a wide selection of dishes including an all day breakfast, steaks, burgers and weekend roasts with yummy desserts like bread and butter pudding, trifle and steamed pudding. The Hampden Hotel is child friendly with toys, crayons and colouring books to keep the little people entertained while you are enjoying your drinks or meals. We are also delighted with the addition of our new beer garden which is proving very popular with locals as well as tourists. Murchison is a thrill seekers dream.

It is an ideal stop off point, between Abel Tasman and Picton to the West Coast and when travelling north from Franz Josef or the world famous Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki. And there’s way more to do in Murchison than an hour will allow. The area has world-class Jetboating, amazing rafting, NZs longest Swingbridge, the wonder of the Natural Flames and easy access to two National Parks: the Kahurangi NP and the Nelson Lakes NP. The park is now open for the 2018-19 season, and we look forward to welcoming new and returning customers.
